unWired Broadband Awarded Best Internet Service Provider & Best Customer Service in Central California
unWired Broadband recognized in Best of Central California for the fourth year in a row, highlighting its local impact
For an unprecedented fourth year in a row, unWired Broadband has been voted Best Internet Service Provider in The Fresno Bee’s Best of Central California awards. Additionally, unWired also received a Best Customer Service award, reinforcing its commitment to exceptional support and industry-leading Internet solutions.
The awards were chosen by Central California residents throughout a three-week online voting period. The top three businesses in each category receive honors, and unWired was awarded gold in Best Internet Service Provider and silver in Best Customer Service. Since 2005, The Fresno Bee has been celebrating local excellence through this prestigious annual award.
unWired Broadband is an Internet provider that specializes in providing connectivity solutions in Central California. “As a hybrid Internet provider offering both fiber and fixed wireless services, we’re uniquely positioned to deliver fast, reliable connectivity to both suburban and rural communities,” said Matt Murphy, CEO of unWired Broadband. “Our commitment to innovation means we can tailor solutions to meet the diverse needs of our customers.”
unWired’s fixed wireless network began in 2003 with a single tower site in Clovis, CA. Since then, the company has experienced explosive growth and now covers 21,000 square miles with more than 220 towers. Today, its fixed wireless Internet service spans Central and Northern California, from Red Bluff to the base of the Grapevine, just south of Bakersfield.
Expanding beyond fixed wireless Internet, unWired deployed their NextGen Fiber network in Coalinga last year, with construction currently underway in Parlier and Gustine. Construction in these communities will be completed by the end of 2025, with more cities planned for future expansion.
Their services have expanded to include a state-of-the-art data center facility in Fresno, CA and back-up Internet solutions, designed for businesses in need of a secondary connection in case their primary Internet connection goes down. In addition, the company offers a mobile telecommunications hub for events or emergency deployments. This technology has already supported festivals, concerts, and CAL FIRE base camps.
