The Best Websites to Help You Buy a House

If you are trying to buy a house in today’s unpredictable housing market, you know it can be a struggle. Luckily, there are several websites out there designed to help you in your homebuying journey! Here are some of our favorites:

When it comes to real estate websites, Zillow is one of the best and most comprehensive out there. You can search for homes for sale or rent anywhere in the US and narrow your search with helpful filters such as price, square footage, parking, lot size, number of stories and much more. They also offer other helpful tools for the homebuying process, such as mortgage calculators, real estate agent finders and more!

Similar to Zillow, Trulia has listings of homes for sale or rent, but every listing includes helpful information about the neighborhood, including resident reviews, crime maps, safety scores, schools, local restaurants, and stores. You can also explore different neighborhoods and cities to see which ones might be the best fit for your family! They have a mobile app that is super user-friendly and easy to use on-the-go.

If you already have a real estate agent that you are working with, or know of real estate agents in your area, make sure to check their websites for their latest listings. Typically, these websites will be one of the first to be updated with the newest listings. Sometimes you can also sign up for email updates directly from your realtor, so that you don’t have to constantly check their website.

Find real estate agents or brokerages in your area to follow on Facebook or Instagram, so that you can be one of the first to know about new houses available for sale. You can search and follow relevant local real estate hashtags on Instagram, for example, #fresnorealestate or #bakersfieldhomes. There also may be Facebook groups where realtors or homeowners post houses for sale in your area.
